Meet the Staff
John Correia, Senior Pastor
Pastor John has been the Senior Pastor of West Greenway Bible Church since July
2007. He received the Master of Divinity from Phoenix Seminary in May 2006.
Prior to moving to Phoenix John served in the US Navy as a Nuclear Reactor Operator.
It was while John was in the Nuclear Enlisted Commissioning Program that John accepted
Christ; after completing his service in the Navy John moved to Phoenix to pursue
seminary training at Phoenix Seminary.
John’s “pastoral passions” are twofold:
- Helping people understand the Bible one passage at a time and apply the lessons
to their own life (geeks call that expository preaching)
- Helping people grow through personal mentoring and modeling (a.k.a. biblical discipleship)
John enjoys studying kenpo (martial arts) with his kids, spending time with family,
and jogging. He has been married to his wife, Laura, for over twelve years. John
and Laura have four children.
Jody Compo, Worship Leader
Jody was born in Phoenix, but spent much of his childhood in Northern Illinois.
His family then moved back to Phoenix in 1995 and began to attend church. When Jody
accepted Christ he immediately felt called to the music ministry and then spent
several years playing guitar, bass, and drums in the praise team. He then felt called
to lead in worship and has had the privilege of leading congregations in worship
for the past 8 years and has been the worship leader at West Greenway since December
of 2007.
Jody's view of leading worship is simple, to usher the congregation to the throne
of the Lord then step back and let Him work.
Jody was married to his wife Jennifer in 1998 and they have two children, Kylie
and Ashlynn. Jody enjoys his family, music, and playing basketball.
